Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I still have the warranty on my HP Notebook PC :
1) Can I reinstall OS without breaking the warranty?
2) I would like to add an RAM bar but impossible to lift the hull. I remove the 4 screws, slide on the edge to open but the cover lifts slightly without ever actually removing itself. How do I do it?

Hi:

See the service manual below for how to remove the bottom cover...chapter 6, page 39.

There are screws you have to remove that are hidden under the rubber foot strips.

You can reinstall the OS but if you have software issues that you want warranty support for, you will need to restore the OS to its original configuration.

You can do that with the HP cloud recovery tool.  Info at the link below for how to use this tool...

Thank you very much for your answer. Thanks to your manual I was able to open the hood, I had not seen the screws under the anti-slip strips. For the OS, I’ll look for the HP cloud. Thanks again for your help and speed:)
