HP Spectre x360 - 15-df1033dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all, I have an HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-df1xxx laptop.

Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz, 2304 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

I have tried everything known to Mankind to upgrade to Windows 11. Error code suggests driver issue. BIOS is updated, video driver updated. HP driver downloads are for either 1903 or 1909 version but I am 1904 build.  If anyone is having this issue and found a workaround, I would be most appreciative to learn how.  I make it to 94% then fail with 0xC1900101-0x20017 in safe-OS phase with error during boot operation. Have tried/done the following:

PC Health Check is good.
Clean boot.
update in place with Windows 11 ISO.
Disable/uninstall anti-virus.
Updated video driver.
SC config trustedinstaller start=auto
net stop bits
net stop wuauserv
net stop msiserver
net stop cryptsvc
Ren %Systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old.zz
Ren %Systemroot%\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old.zz

Hi, @RobBatman I suggest that you hold on before upgrading to Windows 11. I observed here that a lot of users have challenges when they upgrade to Windows 11 such as driver issues, software, and hardware problems as well.

It is advised that you keep on using Windows 10 till the developers have sorted out Windows 11 properly.
