Good afternoon,
After purchasing my laptop, I realized that a fake windows 7 Ultimate was installed on it. I later found the key for Windows 7 Pro inside the battery panel of the laptop. Is it through that I could get the original window and upgrading to windows 10 without loosing all my installations?
Thanks

I cannot support you in any way going forward with the fake Windows 7. Yes, you will have to reinstall Windows 7 Pro using the correct Key Code in order to be legally compliant. The problem is you have today and tomorrow to upgrade to Windows 10 for free and I do nto think there is any way you can get a Windows 7 Pro disk in that span of time unless you already have one available. HP perhaps still has the restore disks available for that model but I don't think you can get them that quickly.

Thanks so much for your reply. But If I don't get to upgrade to Windows 10, I can still have my Windows 7 Installed with the correct key anytime right? I think I'm still fine with my Windows 7. I will just be more watchful when purchasing a Laptop next time.
