Recent upgrade went mostly well... except for the PCI Serial Port
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3D&SUBSYS_161C103C&REV_04
I see where another user was asked to install SP55757. When I do so, I get the Question:
The computer currently contains driver versions newer than the versions you are about to install... do you want to overwrite?
With the following in the text box:
Intel(R) Management Engine Interface (11.0.0.1157)
Other than that... no issues with device manager... so, which driver, please and thanks?
Bonus points 🙂 - as mentioned in subject, I upgraded to an SSD - wow! 5-10 second (max) boot-up!
Hmmmm, I wondered. With an SSD, not the old spinning disk, should I have installed the HP Drive Guard?

Hi:
The problem is that the driver for the PCI serial port you need, is inside of the Intel management engine interface driver folder that W10 automatically installed a newer version of.
So...here is how you get around that issue...
Cancel out of the installation.
Go to the device manager. Click on the PCI serial port needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file. That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp55757.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC.
I have SSD's in all of my HP business class notebooks.
While it is not necessary, I installed the 3D driveguard driver, but not the software to enable it, because I like a clean device manager.
Since you have already installed the driver + the software, you may want to uninstall it in the windows control panel>programs>uninstall a program, restart the PC.
Or you could just leave it be.
To install the driver without the enabling software, download this free file utility.
The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.
Download and save the W8.1 version of the 3D driveguard driver. Do not run the file.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64144.exe
Right click on the 64144 file and select 7-zip from the list of items on the menu.
Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp64144).
Once that is done, go to the device manager, click on the unknown 3D driveguard device needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder 7-zip created.
Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver will install.
Then restart the PC.
