I have a HP Notebook that I updated last night.  It runs on Windows 10.  Before the update, I downloaded my files to an USB thumb drive.  No problem.  Today I'm having trouble uploading the files from the USB to the laptop.  I can pull up the file names, but have not been able to upload them.  Help, please?

Hello, you have upgrade your PC, but do you have reinstall it deleting all your files??

If you have just upgrade, you maybe have keep your files at his original emplacement, so if you try to copy it on the same emplacement you will have an error indicates you have already files with the same name, it is normal.. What is the error you have??

If I have been answer to your question please accept it as a solution 🙂

Thank you so much for trying to help me.  I'm probably not explaining this very well, so please forgive that.

My laptop was running slower than a turtle.  So, I thought I would try to clean it up and dump a lot of my photos and documents that I no longer needed.  I did that.  When I was finished cleaning up what files and pictures I wanted to keep, I downloaded what was left that I did want to keep on a thumb drive.  Then I went to hp technical support and followed their steps to analyze and compress my files.  I left the laptop on all night to get that done.  I saved a lot of kb, not sure what that is, but the number of kbs used dropped a lot.  Satisfied I was done, I inserted my thumb drive, pulled up all the pictures and documents I had saved, and could not at that point figure out how to get myt pictures and documents from the thumb drive to the laptop.

That is my dilemma.  Any advice you may offer is appreciated.

Thank you, Patty Jennings
