Hi:

I read your post.

HP no longer sells recovery media for that model PC since it is more than 5 years old, and it was never available for download.

The best I can do for you would be to give you the steps to clean install W8.1 by using the W8 product key in your notebook's BIOS.

Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want the plain W8.1 64 bit ISO file.

You do not need to enter any product key to download the ISO file.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

At the beginning of the installation routine, you can delete every partition on the hard drive.

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.

This is the generic key for W8.1 'standard.'

If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8 'standard' key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.

After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so it is bootable.

Then you can install the available drivers and software from the  PC's support page.

If the Showkey plus report indicates that your notebook came with W8 Single language, go back, download the W8.1 64 bit Single Language ISO file and use that one instead.

Use this generic W8.1 Single Language key to initially install W8.1 SL.

Hello,

Thank you so much and thanks for letting me know, how can I create a recovery drive, using HP or non-HP tools so that if my PC gets damaged, I can use that?

You're very welcome.

I use the free Macrium Reflect utility after I get everything set up the way I want it, to create a system image.

I store it on a portable hard drive.

The software also has you create a bootable USB or DVD 'rescue' drive that you boot from to access the system image you created.  Then it is very easy to restore the image on the existing drive or a new one.

You want the software on the left side of the page under the 'Backup at Home' section.

You can keep your system image updated as you make changes to your PC.

I create a new image once a month to keep things up to date.

Thank you very much Paul_Tikkanen.

I was busy this week. Tomorrow I will install Windows and try the methods you suggested.

I was anticipating for this reply.

THANK YOU!!
