I'm trying to reset an old laptop prior to disposing of it. It won't do a factory reset direct from the machine itself - I suspect the HDD is going bad. I discovered the HP Cloud Recovery Tool which supports the old laptop - great.
However, my current laptop has a small SSD (C: drive) and a large HDD (D: drive). I cannot make the tool use the space on the D : drive. I've installed from the Microsoft Store, and I have installed from HP, but in both cases it installs onto the C: drive without any option to change this.
On running, it insists on having just over 29GB free on the C: drive whereas I can only manage about 20GB, even after cleaning up everything I can find. The D : drive has over 500GB free, so how do I make it use that space, please?
Thanks,

I think I discovered the answer: it uses the default profile location as specified by %USERPROFILE%. It is pretty much impossible to change this for the main admin account. I even tried creating a new account but even then couldn't move it to the other drive.
It would be a great improvement for the tool to use space on the drive that has it, or to ask where it should work.
