Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Details are on the MS Community >HERE.<

Briefly, I  can't get past  the first two error screens nor can I access Option 5 on F8 Start-Up Settings. This then F5 Enable Safe Mode with Networking should have enabled me to go to my Settings>Updates>Update History and select Uninstall Updates. But it doesn't - it shows the HP logo and does nothing else.

I've tried all other routes including UEFI Settings via ESC. That took me to HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI v5.9.0.0 but that looked too complicated for me to attempt without guidance.

Rather than clog up this thread may I say that full details are in the MS thread, especially my latest one on page 2 at 8.05am today.

An MS expert is helping me but others are saying that I need HP's help as well. **bleep**

I recall that we could deal with the HP technical team - are they the ones I should contact and if so, how please?

I know I not the only HP customer with a failed Creators Fall WU -  MS Comm has dozens of complaints and quite a lot of them are HP customers. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Hi

To recover from a disaster like that you may need/want a recovery disk/stick.

ISO images of various Microsoft OS's are available. They can be be downloaded (sometimes you need a licence key other than the HP OEM key) and 'burnt' to a DVD or USB. They will NOT contain the appropriate HP software, like drivers etc, but will enable a repair to be started

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

For when you only have Linux etc (non MS OS) to create install media.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

BIOS boot order and SECURE/LEGACY options may need changing.

It is currently a 4.4 GigaByte download and may not easily fit on a DVD, so a USB os 8 gig is suggested.  You may have to change the boot order, but it should give you a chance to recover some data.

The Command Prompt option may allow you to navigate to C:\ and copy off C:\Users onto another USB stick of at least 32 gig capacity.  Users has most of your data, mine is just under 20 gigs.

The iso needs expanding onto a USB to look something like this...

If in doubt please ask.

I now know that HP's phone number is 02017 660 0596 and that I first must create a case online per
http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html

To create a case online I went to https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/HP-ENVY-15-ah100-Notebook-PC/8499284/model/8942971

I first went to Drivers and it told me to launch my HP Support Assistant, which I can't.

I then went to Troubleshooting. I checked all twelve links, all of which relate to using my laptop for other links there - which I can't do.

I rang the phone number - they'll be delighted to help me but only after I've created a case online. Going round in circles.

So I'm completely stuffed, unless someone here can refer this to the Technical team on line
