Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I accidentally bricked my bios trying to fix some issues with ram frequency. I have tried to reset using CMOS and no luck. I am now trying to manually flash bios using a usb.

The laptop's current bios is insyde f.25 for chipset 8A21 8A22. This was installed by windows update and I can not find this version anywhere online. The only one availiable on hp support is for f.20

I have tried using the 4 in 1 diagnostic bios program, but these specific bios files are not found. I would appreciate if anyone could help me find these bios files to manually flash my bios.

Hi @Jonathan323,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding BIOS reset!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I'm sorry to hear about the BIOS issue with your HP Victus laptop. To recover your system, you can create a BIOS recovery USB drive using the latest BIOS version available from HP's support website. Even though the F.25 version isn't listed, using the F.20 version should still allow you to recover your BIOS. Here's how you can proceed:

1. Download the BIOS Update:

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your laptop's model number to find the appropriate drivers and BIOS updates.
  • Download the latest BIOS update available (e.g., F.20).

2. Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive:

  • Run the downloaded BIOS update file on a Windows computer.
  • Choose the option to create a BIOS recovery USB drive.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

3. Perform the BIOS Recovery:

  • Insert the BIOS recovery USB drive into your HP Victus laptop.
  • Ensure the laptop is powered off.
  • Press and hold the Windows key and the B key simultaneously.
  • While holding these keys, press the power button for about 2-3 seconds, then release the power button but continue holding the Windows and B keys.
  • The laptop should enter BIOS recovery mode and initiate the recovery process.

Please ensure that your laptop is connected to a reliable power source throughout this process to prevent any interruptions.
