HP ALL IN ONE 21-2024 HARD CRASHED, RE INSTALLED WINDOWS 8.1 PRO MCE NEED PRODUCT KEY, I GUESS MACHINE ORIGINALLY HAD W8.1 HOME. MY ORIGINAL PRODUCT KEY WILL NOT WORK. I GUESS I NEED TO RE INSTALL HOME EDITION BUT DONT KNOW WHERE TO FIND IT, AND I THINK THERE ARE DIFFERENT BUILDS OF HOME EDITION. IF ANYONE CAN HELP IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. MICROSOFT TELLS ME I HAVE TO CONTACT HP. RESPECTFULLY

Hi:
You can reinstall W8.1 for free by making bootable installation media from the link below.
Download Windows 8.1 Disc Image (ISO File) (microsoft.com)
Select the plain W8.1 64 bit ISO file download.
The product key is in the BIOS and W8.1 should not even ask for a key to install.
Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.
After W8.1 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

The HP product specs indicate that your PC originally came with W8.1 'standard' 64 bit.
That is indicated under the section labeled 'Titles that shipped with PC'
