After doing a complete wipe and format of the SSD (Not my doing. Someone thought they were helping), I am attempting to install a clean windows 10 but the factory SSD is not showing up in the install process. The drive is visible in BIOS in the "Rapid Storage Technology" section.
I tried using diskpart to clean and format the partition. What steps in BIOS or in the partition process do I need to do in order to get the drive visible to windows to install.
The drive is visible when using a USB linux drive.

I happened to notice in a youtube video that someone mentioned specifically 11th gen processors and as soon as I switched my google search to "hp laptop 11th gen windows 10 install", a ton of videos came up with the solution. You need to go and download the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Drivers from Intel and unzip them to a usb. Once you hit the part of the install where the drive isn't visible, click load driver and navigate to the flash drive. Once that happens the drive is visible and the windows install proceeds without issue.

check your bios settings for either legacy mode or ufei mode, double check the SSD to make sure its still in good health, its just a sanity check since it was recognized in the linux environment. i believe your issue lies within the which mode your in.

So, BIOS on this machine lacks many options for UEFI and legacy and no options I can find to change. It does appear that there is an issue with 11th gen processors and the windows install process. I came across a few videos that mention downloading a small file called Intel rsv tools or something and putting it on a flash drive and then when the drive does not show up, you browse to the USB and load the file and voila the drives are visible.
Will report back as solved if this is in fact the case.
