I want to use compressed air to clean the keyboard but I want to disable the battery to minimize the risk of a short since compressed air does have a degree of moisture in it. How to do that? Nothing in the bios about disabling the battery. Are there keystrokes to do it (seems to me there was once a way to disable an internal battery from the keyboard).

Good thinking. Year 1997, I gave my son a new notebook for his final years at a high school. 2 years later, he asked for another one because very simple: he used a vacuum cleaner to suck the dusk out. Looks line your machine uses old style battery therefore it is very easy to remove battery. Please use page 34 of the following Guide
