@candidlygail, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP laptop is experiencing issues with the CMOS battery and the warranty has already expired, you can consider the following options for repair or replacement:

Self-Service: If you're comfortable with hardware, you can replace the CMOS battery yourself. Be sure to check the laptop's manual for instructions on how to access and replace the CMOS battery. Ensure you have the correct replacement battery model.

Local Repair Shop: You can also take your laptop to an HP authorized service center for further assistance.

Please let me know if you encounter any specific errors related to the CMOS. I can then provide you with troubleshooting steps or guides to help resolve the issue.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
