When we bought this laptop it was for school use . Instead of my daughter using my or her home email for primary use , she put in her school email as primary . Over the summer that account was locked out. I didn't know this till we did a system restore . To get back in she needs that email and password but can't because the school board locked her out .

Is there a way to get in without my having to consult the school board for this matter??

Hello @JLS8320

Thank you for posting !

Please, check this TKB community article here >> https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Knowledge-Base/Forgotten-or-unknown-password-Can-HP-help-me-...

If the article does not cover your case, It is recommended that you contact the school's authority , contact an IT professional or reimage (reinstall) the computer if data is not important for you.

An advice for future reference:

If this computer is your own computer for which you paid for, you should always use a local account, not an online account, not an organizational account. For a personal device you should never install access control stuff or management applications which depend on somebody else, for avoid lockouts like these.
