All of a sudden the camera didnt work anymore in microsoftTeams, and I contacted Microsoft, and they helped restore driver, and then the camera worked again for a day, but it disappeared and now nobody is able to find or restore the driver. I have tried to install a different driver but for any of the drivers I get a fault code This device cannot start. (Code 10) How should I fix it?

Hi @Char555,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've encountered a frustrating issue with your webcam driver on your HP Victus notebook. Let's try a few steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
Check Device Manager:
- Press Windows Key + X and select "Device Manager."
- Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark or a device category called "Imaging devices" or "Cameras." If you see any, it indicates an issue with the drivers.
Update Drivers:
- Right-click on the webcam device (if it's listed) and select "Update driver."
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software." Windows will search for and install the latest driver if available.
Reinstall Drivers:
- If updating the driver doesn't work, try uninstalling the webcam driver.
- Right-click on the webcam device and select "Uninstall device."
- Once uninstalled, restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver upon restart.
HP Support Assistant:
- HP laptops often come with pre-installed support software. Look for "HP Support Assistant" in your programs and run it. It may detect and offer solutions for driver issues.
HP Website:
- Visit the HP support website and navigate to the drivers and downloads section.
- Enter your laptop model and download the latest webcam driver specifically designed for your model.
BIOS Update:
- In some cases, updating the BIOS can resolve hardware compatibility issues. However, this step should be approached with caution as updating the BIOS incorrectly can cause damage to your system.
Hardware Check:
- If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there's a hardware issue with the webcam itself.
System Restore:
- As a last resort, you could try performing a system restore to a point before the issue started occurring. This can sometimes resolve software-related problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
