Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just upgraded my Elitebook from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro.  My laptop came with a recovery partition. I assume that if I were to try to make use of the recovery partition now, I would reset me back to Window 7.  Is that correct?  If so, how do I update the recovery partition such that it would recover Windows 10?

Hi:

You are correct.

If you do a system recovery, you will get W7 again.

There is no way to update the recovery partition to W10.

What I suggest you do is to use a free disk imaging software utility such as Macrium Reflect.

You can store the image on a portable hard drive, and the software will have you make a bootable utility that you use to access the system image you created.

You can update the system image any time you want.
