HP Probook 440 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I power on my laptop initially it is showing "Entering 3rd Party Option ROM Management.." after that it goes to a screen where it shows Drivers. Under Drivers  it shows Devices List, Network Device List and Exit.

In Bios settings under UEFI Drivers only one option is there 3rd Party Option ROM Management. How disable this?

To Boot from the Hard Drive we have to press ESC to exit and then press F9 to go to boot menu to select UEFI-Windows Boot Manager.

when ever we reboot the system we have to go to bootmenu to boot from the Harddrive.

If you want to go to 3rd Party Option ROM Management manually you need to press F3 key, but in our case with out pressing these key it is entering into option ROM management.

Tested keyboard throughly that it is not pressing F3 key continuously.

Downgraded Bios and Upgraded Bios and the issue is same.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi there,

Please, if you all ready have workable solution, let us know.
We have very similar to you problem with the 3rd Party Option ROM Management appearance but much worst because it same how set the screen off at boot time and
- No Visual Access To BIOS any more.
So, we have to boot the computer on pure dark screen,
by pressing ESC >>> F9 >>> Down Key >>> Enter
in order to use Windows or Linux OS.

Our product is: HP Probook 470 G3
Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows 10 and Linux Ubuntu (64)
Problem definition: No Visual Access To BIOS

We tried to solve the problem by:

Most common fixing methods by:
Disconnecting power cables, battery, pressing power key for long time.
Trying different combinations with ESC key and F1,F2, ..... F8, F9, F10, .... keys
to flash the BIOS menu visual

And more advance solutions by:

1. Trying to reset the BIOS to last working version of the BIOS by:
Pressing Power button + Win Key + B (and V) as subscribed by HP tech support

2. Updating the BIOS firmware as suggested by HP support for flashing the ROM;
a) From within Windows internally with HP BIOS update software and
b) From USB external drive with HP BIOS update software by pressing (Power button + Win Key + B )

3. By using HP provided diagnosing software wth out any lack.

We know that the bios firmware is not full updated on all ROMs chips (Video Bios Rom for example ) and the BIOS software is working, but is not visually accessible and we have no idea what the displayed standard menus and error messages are.

That is all. For now we are learning how temporary to use the computer with no visual access at booting and no de-facto access to BIOS software (which is made for mouse only slicking ).

We know that HP have bootable software (for full update off all firmware ) for fixing commercial systems hardware and firmware problems (and online solutions for fixing HP servers and other enterprise and commercial computers), but not for home users.

I have this exact same problem on a 650 G3. Was working fine yesterday, this morning it wont boot to windows directly.

We need to go to the boot menu and select manually.

This is wierd.

Thanks

Hi, I've faced this issue several times and all the times all i did was to disconnect the keyboard. The F3 key is most time pressed down by impact or force on the keyboard or keyboard just malfunctioning on it's own.

Do remove the keyboard, connect an external keyboard and try booting again.

let me know if this helps.

Hey mate, try disconnecting the keyboard and use external keyboard. most time it's always the keyboard malfunctioning or pressing itself.

I tested the keyboard and it was not it. The F3 was not pressing.

What I ended up doing is removing the battery, hold the power button for 60 sec and put the battery back.

After that the laptop does not go into this mode anymore.

Very wierd.

Thanks
