HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-d6000 (B0ST0AV)

When downloading Windows 11, it kept getting stuck on downloading at 6%. So I contacted Microsoft Support and they fiddled with it.  I kept getting a BitLocker screen. Then when entering in my BitLocker recovery key and pressing enter to continue it takes me right back to the BitLocker screen to reenter in my recovery key. I contacted Microsoft Support again and we went through a bunch of things that didn't solve the problem. So they suggested I contact HP. But I'm on my work PC and can't download the contact thing for HP. I'm hoping someone can help me fix this problem in the HP community.

In short, could you tell me what you’ve tried, how you’re trying to download Windows 11, and where it gets stuck? Also, do you have your BitLocker recovery key?

I do have a BitLocker key and when I enter in said key is takes me right back to the screen in which is asks me to enter the key. I select different things, such as 'Troubleshoot' to 'Advanced options' to 'Startup Repair' then I enter in my Recovery Key again. It then tries to "diagnose my computer" then "repairing your computer" then it takes me right back to the screen to enter in my Recovery Key.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Accessing the Command Prompt:
    • On the BitLocker recovery screen, if there is an option to "Skip this drive" or "Advanced repair options", select it. If these are not visible, force the device to shut down and power it on. Repeat this 3 times to trigger the Automatic Repair environment.
    • Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
    • You may be asked to select your account and enter your password.
  2. Manually unlocking the drive:
    • Check the status of your drives to confirm the volume letter (usually C: or D:). Type the following and press Enter: manage-bde -status
    • Look for the volume where "Conversion Status" is "Encrypted". We will assume it is C: for these steps.
    • Unlock the drive manually using your 48-digit key. Type the following command (replace the X's with your actual key) and press Enter: manage-bde -unlock C: -rp XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX
    • If the output says "The command has been successfully completed," the drive is now accessible.
  3. Suspending BitLocker protectors:
    • Type the following command and press Enter: manage-bde -protectors -disable C:
    • You should see a message stating "Key protection is disabled."
    • Type exit and press Enter to close the Command Prompt.
    • Select Continue to boot into Windows.
  4. Re-enabling protection:
    • Type "Manage BitLocker" in the Start menu search bar and open the control panel.
    • You will likely see the drive status as "Suspended".
    • Select "Resume protection".
