I have no About in the header line and can not find the version number anywhere. There is an About on one of the sub-pages, but no version number listed anywhere; instead it goes to a web page which tells me nothing,

I am reluctant to download this again and overwrite the existing HPSA as this seems such a waste of time, so can somebody explain where the version number is hidden.

Edit - Add Note and example how to track HPSA version through Windows Start

Depending on your system, the latest version HP Support Assistant will install as a normal software in Programs and Features OR it will install as an Application.

The GUI (Graphics User Interface) on the Application is different and more in line with other mobile capable applications.

You do NOT get a choice about which "latest" version is installed - there is a note on the Installation Website that explains.

===================================================================================

For the 8.x version - standard installation in Programs and Features

Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

Scroll down, find in list HP Support Assistant > Far right column for Version

OR

Open File Explorer

Navigate to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework

Right-Click on HPSF.exe > Properties > Tab Details

====================================================

OR

For the 9.x version - HPSA Application

Settings > Apps > Under Apps and Features

Scroll down, find and Left-Click on HP Support Assistant

Advanced Options

OR

Windows Start > All Apps

Scroll down to Category "H"

Right-Click on HP Support Assistant > More > App Settings

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download, Save, Install the latest supported HP version of the HP Support Assistant

Many thanks; I was just checking this on Google and it seems that, in the older version, after clicking About a button appeared to download the latest version. If this process has now been simplified and will happen automatically in the background then I accept that.
