So I know it was Windows 8.1 x64 .. But exactly which variant is my model shipped with?
Home? Single Language? "N" ? ....Can't be Pro.
Is there way to determine this from the embedded product key in my BIOS?
A lot of websites say it's "Windows 8.1 with Bing". But then there is also "Windows 8.1 with Bing, Single Language"....etc.
How can go about making a fresh Win 8.1 install that will be to able to self-activate from the OEM key in my BIOS. I have all the Model, Serial and batch numbers etc on the back of my laptop. If those will help.
This is probably a question for HP experts.
PS: I erased my entire hard disk. So it doesn't have anything anymore. Fresh install.

Hi:
The product specs page for your model below indicate that it comes with Windows 8.1 with Bing (64-bit).
I do not believe you can use the W8.1 ISO download from Microsoft, as that will not work with the W8.1 OEM product key in the BIOS.
You either need to use the W8.1 recovery media you made when you first got the notebook, or a W8.1 OEM installation disk.
You notebook has the non-Pro verson of W8.1.

Since you are doing a fresh install, Start recovery and you will get the info.

Unfortunately, that I do not know.
Youc can try ordering from an online PC retailer.
You can also see if you can order recovery media from HP for the country you live in at the link below.
