Product: Compaq Presario C702TU

which is the best OS for my compaq presario c702tu which jas 2gb ram and celeron m530 single core processor which runs on 1.73ghz 

i want an OS which runs smoothly with good compatibility. i cannot upgrade to another computer as i am a student.
