Hello @5CD747CL75 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

f your HP ProBook 450 G4 is experiencing automatic scroll-up issues while viewing PDF files, here are several steps you can take to resolve the problem:

1. Update Touchpad Driver

Ensure that your touchpad driver is up to date. An outdated or corrupted driver might cause scroll issues.

  • Go to the HP Support page.
  • Enter your product model (ProBook 450 G4) and look for the latest touchpad driver update.
  • Download and install the driver.

2. Check Touchpad Settings

Sometimes touchpad settings need adjustment:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
  • Check the scrolling settings and adjust if needed.

3. Test with an External Mouse

Connect an external mouse to see if the issue persists. If it doesn't, the problem might be with the touchpad itself.

4. Check for Keyboard Issues

Sometimes stuck keys (like the arrow keys) could cause such behavior:

  • Make sure none of the keys are physically stuck.
  • You can try gently cleaning the keyboard.

5. Use Another PDF Reader

Try opening the PDF with a different application, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, to see if the problem replicates.

  • Download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader if you haven't already.

6. System Updates

Ensure your operating system is fully updated.

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

7. Hardware Diagnostic

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to check for hardware issues.

  • Restart your HP ProBook.
  • Press F2 repeatedly during startup to enter the diagnostics menu.
  • Run a system test to ensure all components are working correctly.

If the issue persists after trying these solutions, it may be beneficial to contact HP Support for a deeper investigation as there might be an underlying hardware issue.Hope this helps!
