My Hp Victus laptop was infected with Trojan detected by windows defender but even after taking necessary action the virus was multiplying itself, I have tried different antivirus but they couldn't even detect the virus, so I have reset my windows 11 from settings but while installing the fresh version of windows a blue screen error popped stop code: Reference by pointer and after that it's running In a loop showing unexpected error. My laptop is still in warranty.
Please kindly help me to resolve the issue.

Hi @Pronnay,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your Victus by HP Gaming Laptop. Dealing with persistent malware and blue screen errors can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.
-
Disconnect from the Internet:
- Make sure you are disconnected from the internet to prevent further infection. This can be done by disabling Wi-Fi or unplugging the Ethernet cable.
-
Boot into Safe Mode:
- Boot your computer into Safe Mode. This will start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services, which can help you troubleshoot the issue without interference from third-party applications.
-
Run Windows Defender Offline:
- Since you've had trouble with other antivirus programs, try using Windows Defender Offline. This is a powerful tool that runs outside of Windows and may be more effective at removing certain types of malware.
- Open Windows Security (Windows Defender).
- Go to "Virus & threat protection."
- Under "Current threats," select "Scan options."
- Choose "Windows Defender Offline scan" and then "Scan now."
- Since you've had trouble with other antivirus programs, try using Windows Defender Offline. This is a powerful tool that runs outside of Windows and may be more effective at removing certain types of malware.
-
Perform a Clean Install of Windows:
- If you're still having issues after attempting the above steps, consider doing a clean install of Windows.
- Create a bootable USB drive with the Windows installation media.
- Boot from the USB drive and follow the instructions to perform a clean install.
- If you're still having issues after attempting the above steps, consider doing a clean install of Windows.
-
Check for Hardware Issues:
- Blue screen errors can sometimes be related to hardware issues. Ensure that your hardware components, such as RAM and hard drive, are functioning correctly. You may want to run a diagnostic test on your hardware.
Remember to back up your important data before performing any drastic actions like a clean install, as it will erase all data on your system drive.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
