The HP AI Companion keeps saying it is having issues and to try again later. I have followed the troubleshooting steps, yet the system keeps saying that it is having issues. is anyone experiencing the same problem and have you found a way to resolve it?

I assume your PC meets the NPU requirements
else it will not run or will run poorly
Possibly it is busy chatting with it's AI friends 😀
Sorry, I do not know why it is not helping.
---but the following are available---
If you use chrome then Google's AI will try to find an answer.
You can register and use Open AI.
Windows has CoPilot, and Mac has Apple AI
If you form your query correctly, you might obtain videos that show how to fix some problem from the above tools.
Unlike the above tools, HP's companion has restrictions on the type of information that can be provided such as hidden options.
Do not contact any support or use any phone number shown by Bing or Google unless the site and video are HP produced.
Let me know what the problem is, maybe I can help.

Hi BeemerBiker. Thank you for replying. I'm using a New HP Omnibook Ultra Laptop 14-fd0013dx with the HP AI Companion preinstalled. Its supposed to meet the NPU requirements. I've followed all of the troubleshooting instructions. It had worked a few times, not it just always says it is having "issues" and that I should try again later. None of the troubleshooting works, but I am logged into the system correctly and everything is up to date. I was using the AI Companion because I can create a library and ask it to review a few documents and then produce results from those. I did this once and it worked quite well. I just can't get it to do anything at all now. Are you aware of any other AI options that can analyze files and then produce work product from them?

I've used ChatGPT and share the subscription with one of my sons. I have no experience with HP's companion and do not have any NPU systems.
I was unable to find any HP Companion forum or community but possibly the following may be useful for examples or learning
https://www.linkedin.com/learning has classes on Generative AI and AI productivity tools.
Open AI community https://community.openai.com/
maybe the following might be useful ??

Thank you for the information. I will take a look at the links. I just tried it again and for three days now it says it is having issues and to try again later. Part of my issue is that when purchasing a product with AI capability that has been marketed for its AI capabilities, I was kind of expecting the AI tool to have a degree of reliable functionality. It would be helpful if the AI tool could notify you when it is down and provide an email notification of its recovery. I see plenty of potential value in the HP AI Companion as a tool. It would be great if it was a reliable tool. Hopefully someone with knowledge of it will come across this thread and provide some insight.

As an update for anyone following this thread, I have been in contact with HP product support for the AI Companion. They have been working with me to address the issue. So far it seems to be tied to internet access. Even though wifi is active the AI Companion thinks it doesn't have an active internet connection and states that it is "having Issues". If I turn the wifi off (go into airplane mode) then it immediately gives an error message about not having an internet connection. When I turn wifi back on or switch to a second wifi network then the AI Companion will work for a short period of time (3-10 minutes) before it starts "having issues" again. So, the problem is not fixed, but I can at least use the AI Companion app by switching wifi networks (or turning wifi off and on) when it starts "having issues". Also, just for information, I was switching between a 5G wifi router and an older 2.4 ghz wifi router and had the same problem with the AI Companion regardless of which router I was using, so I do not believe that the router or the wifi network is the problem. I also went into control panel and turned off the ability of the laptop to turn off the wifi adapter to save battery power and that didn't help either. During all of this all other apps have no problem accessing the internet through the two wifi networks, so I do not think that the problem is with the wifi networks or the settings on the laptop.
When this finally gets resolved I will provide an update.
