HP 15 f018dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi.

I'm writing to confim that my laptop model HP 15-f018dx is going to receive or have made available a bios update for the "Spectre" issue. My laptop has already been patched through Windows update for the "Meltdown" issue.

I checked using a powershell script and a Meltdown/Spectre tool and they both confirm this laptop is vulnerable to Spectre and needs a bios update from HP.

I've checked here for my model:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05869091

and the closest I see to my model is HP Notebook 15 F0xx. For that model the bios update will be available on 2/9/18. I'm not sure if that refers to my model or not.

Does anyone know?

Thanks.

Yes that is the one for your model.

As soon as Intel releases the updates all manufacturers will make them available.

My understanding is that HP expects to have the bios update ready by 2/9/18.
Maybe they have it already and have to ready it for the particular laptop model?
But I'll def check back there and also in the drivers and software section for my model laptop to see if they have the new bios that fixes this issue listed there as well.
