I wanted to ask if switching to linux void my warrenty?

No, it will not.

 

However, I would install Linux onto a different disk-drive, after putting aside (and labelling) the current disk-drive.

 

Then, if you need "warranty support", reconnect the original disk-drive, and test your computer, before contacting HP to get warranty support.

I might advise that opening the case to do what @itsmyname  suggests might void the warranty.

You could run the Linux from a Live environment instead, at least until the warranty expires.
