Will the windows 10 work on my HP Pavilion dv7-1426nr Entertainment Notebook PC?

After a boot error my operating system was corrupt and removed. I would like to put either the original software back on it or more recent windows if that would work. I would not know how to find downloadable /purchaseable versions of the old os.

Hi:

The product specs page for your notebook indicates that it came with Windows Vista.

You can still order Vista recovery media from this non-HP vendor at the link below.

Your PC is too old to run W10.

You could run W7 on it, but you would have to find W7 on the secondary market such as on eBay or Amazon.

If you decide to try and find W7, make sure it is advertised as in a sealed package with an unused product key.
