Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The older laptop (from 2-3 years ago or so) had the Microsoft product key sticker removed from the laptop from the teenager who received it for Christmas.

The laptop was knocked over by a naughty dog, fell off a table and the hard drive is having issues, no longer boots.

All partitions are missing (no recovery, no boot device) and I have already gone through troubleshooting the drive which is passing tests without issue.

Does anyone know if  HP can lookup the assigned windows install key by serial number ?  or is that not a possibility ?  Im not willing to shell out money for an out of warranty phone call

On a machine with Windows 8/8.1 or later, there is NO sticker for product key. You don't need to enter product key, system will automatically activate using a key which is embedded in BIOS of your machine. If you wish to know what it is, please sun the following tool
