Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
- When was the last time it worked fine?
- Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi, The Product # is E5D85UA#ABA This has been going on for quite a while. I have been restarting it by removing the battery, unplugging the power supply, holding the startup button down for 30 seconds, plugging the power supply back in, Then turning it back on. After that reinstall the battery. I finally decided I would try to find out what was going on.
I don't remember changing anything in settings. It is random but I did notice that it has been doing it when I'm downloading files. It can run along fine for several days then it will randomly shut down. I usually keep it plugged in all the time if that means anything. I have a cooling fan under it running all the time. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you for posting back.
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
