Microsoft Windows 11

Hello!

I just installed WIN 11 and everything works fine, except that Win doesn't recognize when I close the laptop.

I tried to configure the energy settings so the laptop would go to sleep, but nothing happens when I close the laptop. Also, when I hit the power button (while Win is running), nothing happens, even though it's configured to go to sleep.

I installed all win updates and alls suggested updates through hp support assistant.

Thank you for your help.
Peter

Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues:

      • An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance.
      • The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade.
      • HP Support recommends installing a specific BIOS update.

Thank you for your support. Unfortunately nothing changed. I did everything you mentioned, but the behavior is still the same (nothing happens). I checked the powersaving settings, it is correctly set up ("when I close the lid = sleep").

Any further ideas?

Thank you

Hello @Petern123

Closing the lid is a mechanical operation that activates a sensor/trigger. If this mechanism is defective, this would explain why it no longer works.

Does software triggered Windows > Shutdown Sleep works ?

Kind regards
