HP Pavilion dv7-1199ez Entertainment Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi all,

I'm trying to refurbish an old good laptop (initially manufactured with VIsta), but I can't get any drivers nor BIOS updates from the support website. Are there any advices or even help from HP on this? Hope to hear soon ...  🙂

Best regards / Hathor27

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

After reading your post, I did go through the Software and drivers of your product and found that drivers are available only for windows 7 and windows 8.

As Windows Vista OS reached the end of support life and no more software driver available.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Dear Echo_Lake,

thank your for your reply. I checked your link, but it seems to me this product is not the one I'm looking for: It's a dv7-1199 (not -7000) and it only runs on 32 Bit. My machine gets recognized by the automatic serial number detector on the support website, but when I select it then for driver listing, the website turns endlessly and delivers no result.
Is there a way to get drivers from the backoffice? Thanks in advance

Dear Echo_Lake,

thank you for checking the specifications. At the download page of the 7000, the system selection only provides Windows 7 -64 Bit (and my computer only supports 32 Bit). Anyway, I downloaded the BIOS setup and tried to install it: The programm only allows then to make an USB-Stick for usage at an other computer - so, no BIOS-Update is possible here with this download. The BIOS update would be the first thing to do, but how, if there's no adequate download? Hope to get one more solution...

The last thing I can suggest trying to restore the computer back to the factory settings. Performing an HP system recovery (Windows ) While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Dear Echo_Lake,

thank you for your assistance. I do not have any recovery partition anymore, because I had to replace the disc. All what I am looking for is support for the latest BIOS and the latest drivers for the mentioned notebook model and Windows-7 oder Vista 32 Bit. And because the HP-Support-Site does not deliver any results on my request, I asked for backoffcie information - sadly no results up to now - thanks anyway
