Windows 10 Insider Preview

I have been regularly updating my laptop with Win 10 Insider Preview but trying to update after Version 10.0.17672.1000 I get error 0x8000705B4 on all items to be downloaded. MS tell me that my BIOS is too old to go any further - is that likely to be the case? Is there a BIOS upgrade that will let me continue? If I revert to standard (Non-Insider Preview) Win 10 Pro, will I continue to be able to update?

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

HP provides support ONLY for the Win10 version(s) that come preinstalled on their PCs -- NOT for Windows Insider versions.

Those are essentially BETA versions of Win10 and all bets are off regarding whether or not any Insider version will run on any PC.

I was aware that questions related to Windows Insider should go through TenForums. However, my query is:

is there a BIOS/UEFI upgrade available that might enable subsequent versions of Insider and other updates to be installed?

It is very doubtful that HP will continue to release BIOS updates for your Windows 8 era laptop. There is a later BIOS posted than what you have but I have reservations about whether it is actually for your model. Recently saw another poster with G6 22XX series trying to install that same update with no luck.

The latest BIOS that you pinted me too has worked. Now I have to see if Insider update also works. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, the Windows Update failed again with the same error.
