HP ProOne 400 G3 20.0-in Touch AiO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased a new HP ProOne 400 recently. It came with Windows 10 Pro installed. That is working fine.

However, I'm used to installing Windows and entering the XXXX-XXXX... license key which accompanies the DVD, and in the event I need to re-install this operating system from a DVD I would expect the installer to request that key.

I don't appear to have been provided with that license number, so I'm wondering how I would go about getting it?

When I select the System option from the control panel the Windows activation advises a Product ID, but that isn't in the format I expect.

Windows 10 license key is embedded in BIOS and should be retrieved automatically during a fresh install. You can use the attached file to check your key.

Useful info - thanks!

Hopefully I will never need it, however I'm always keen to be prepared for the unexpected 🙂

Also, I can get a valid license key via my MSDN subscription, though that would't be any good if I ever decided to sell the PC.

Grateful thanks. I hadn't realised there was a utility for this - I had visions that the key would be hardwired into the installer. I already cut the DVD's needed if I ever need to re-install the PC.
