Product: HP Notebook - 15-ay196nr
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My hard-drive failed and I am having it replaced and re-installing the Windows 10 operating system.  I can't find any documentation that may have came with my laptop that provides me with the key.  How do I go about download and installing Windows 10 on the new hard-drive.

Hi:

 

You can make a bootable recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with the notebook.

If you prefer to clean install W10, the product key is in the BIOS.

 

You don't need it to reinstall W10.
