We are wanting to purchase a  notebook which is equivalant to the Apple MacBook Pro, but the best notebooks that compare are in the premium range like the Spectre X360 or the ZBook, and these only seem to come with Windows 10 Home.

Is it possible to purchase these with Windows 10 Pro to be able to join our domain?

We do have a Microsoft Agreement which includes Windows 10. Would we as another option, be able to upgrade these notebooks to Pro?

Also, do these notebooks come with an onboard 3G/4G WWAN module?

You're welcome Grant.

There will be no hardware problem with Windows 10 Pro and actually many ZBooks already have Windows 10 Pro.

I would go with the ZBook for that type of work, as it is designed for it. A mobile workstation.

David

Hi,

Upgrading to Windows 10 Pro is not a problem, all you need is a product key and you can upgrade from settings in the OS.

Have you considered the Elitebooks?

WWAN modules are usually optional on the notebooks. So you would need to find one with it already installed. In most countries you can actually configure the notebook in the HP store before purchase but does not seem to be the case in South Africa.

Hope it helps,

David

Hi David

Thank you, I was just a bit worried that upgrading a premium laptop might start getting a few hardware errors, but that's great.

The EliteBooks are great but I don't think they quite have the processing power of a Spectre or ZBook. This laptop would be needed for graphics by our Marketing guy so it needs to be specked.

We've purchased WWAN cards for other laptops like one of the EliteBooks so I'm sure the option would be there for the Premium laptops.

Thanks
