I have an older Lenovo "tablet" computer. It is still running the "1607" version of Windows, because the tablet has a processor that is NOT SUPPORTED by any later version of Windows 10. I get the same "notification" that my operating system is out-of-date. I think that the error-message is too "generic" -- other MIcrosoft web-pages document that the processor is not supported. So, I just ignore that "notification" pop-up.
What model-number is your laptop? You could be in the same circumstance as me.
