HP 650
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a notebook HP 650 with processor intel pentium dual core and 4Gb of RAM. I bought it on January 2013. The operating system is windows 8.

My question is the following: if I install Windows 10, will the computer be more powerful?

No. The hardware is what it is and that is what gives power not the software. Windows 8 and Windows 10 require very similar resources so it would not be faster nor would it be slower, except you always get a bit of a performance bump when you clean install Windows. New Windows is not bogged down with junk files and the registry is smaller so things open faster. This lasts maybe a month or 2. Games do not run any faster and things like editing videos would not be any faster, either.

Thank you for the immediate answer. I have another question to ask about the hardware of my computer. If I replace the existing hard drive with an SSD, will my notebook have any benefits?
How do I know if the connector is SATA2 or SATA3? What are the SSD suitable to my computer?

It is a SATA-II or SATA-300 interface but that does not mean an SSD will not work. Yes, an SSD is the single best upgrade you can do. Any 2.5 inch wide and 7mm thick SATA SSD will work. The only reservation is the price of the SSD. A 512 gig will cost about $160 and a 256 will cost about $100.

What version of the 650 do you have (they have generation numbers like G1, G2) and I can get you an installation video.
