I am using a
HP ENVY Notebook m7-u109dx.
Windows 10, Home addition. Version 1909. Build 18363.836.
Some time over the past two updates I have a persistent problem with the laptop going into sleep or hybernate mode upon logging on the device. This happens when logging in from a fresh start up AND when logging in after the device has been put to sleep intentionally. I sometimes initiate sleep when I know I am coming back tot he machine to work.
I have disabled the sleep functions.
I never travel with this device so it operates without a battery.
I am seeing a lot of commentary on the issue out there but so far none of the solutions are giving me a fix.
Help?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
And, also disable hybrid sleep in Windows:
-
In Windows, search for and open Control panel.
-
In the Control Panel search field, type power options, and then select Power Options from the list.
-
Click Change plan settings for the power plan that is selected.
-
Click Change advanced power settings.
-
Expand Sleep, and then expand Allow hybrid sleep.
-
Select Off from the On battery drop-down menu, and then select Off from the Plugged in drop-down menu.
-
Click OK.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
