HP Notebook - 15-bw094ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After replacing the hard drive, I can't install the OS. With the Windows icon, graphic artifacts appear or the laptop restarts

Hi:

Yes, that is a very common problem with that model series.

The only way I know of to reinstall W10 on that model series is to use the HP cloud recovery tool, which seems to work for some reason, where a clean install presents that 'fuzzy' display.

Here is an info link for how to use the HP cloud recovery tool.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

How can I do this if there is no system on the new ssd

You need to use another PC running Windows 7 64 bit or newer to create the recovery media with.

Or, if the drive you removed was working, you can put it back in your notebook to create the recovery media with.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know what you can do about that error.

The only other suggestions I can offer are these:

If your original drive is working and reinstall it and clone the existing drive's contents to the new SSD connected with a USB adapter that would support the type of SSD you installed.

You can use a free utility such as Macrium reflect for this.

Another thing you can try is to boot the W10 installation flash drive you made earlier and try booting it from every USB port.
