Some test i did with Validity Fingerprint Sensor (VFS201) with some good result, but not perfect.

Probablly drivers are not compatible at all.

Windows Hello

Recognice drivers WBF (Windows Biometrics Framework) but don't work.

Tested With Synaptics drivers for (PID=0018), (PID=003C), (PID=003F)....

I can't install  drivers from HP Sofware Packs SP for VFS201 (WBF) because it shows as non signed drivers and Windows 10 wont to install.

Client Security 9.4.1.2817 - sp98508

Working at Windows Logon, but browsers are not compatible.

I used this driver because none of HP are working to me:

  • Fingerprints_Validity_Win7_32_VER2300 (founded at Helpjet.net

SimplePass V8.01.62A - sp76923 (And 8.0 versions)

Same as Windows Hello

SimplePass 6.0.100.272 - sp61399 (And 6.0 versions)

Same as Windows Hello

HP SimplePass by Digital Persona 5.2.0.233 - SP55459

Working at Windows logon (local account only) with drivers:

  • Validity FingerPrint Sensor Driver 3.1.374 - sp47224

Digital Persona 4.11

Same as HP SimplePass by Digital Persona 5.2.00.233

HP Protect Tools

Can't be installed on Win 10

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and I understand your concerns

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thank yo for your response.

I used Support Assistant on my first attempt when I realized there were devices not working

I didn't find anything in Support Assistant except some recommendations.

It is worth mentioning that windows automatically updates some drivers, for example essential components such as bios and graphics card. Also the TouchPad although with the version that is downloaded automatically (v19) do not work half the features so I had to downgrade to v18 that works better but withot 3 finger gestures. (not really a problem when i have scrolling and inherce working that is more useful)

Now i have my computer working with the most functions, My only doubt is if i have the latest drivers/software or if there are something better.

I want to use Windows hello but it don't recognize the driver because is not WBF (or i think so) so I did try some WBF drivers but even if it unlock the option to enroll fingers it finally did nothing. (no sounds, no changes, just nothing)

HP Client Security is not integrated on Edge (or dont work for me) and Crhome extensión dont work too.

Thank you for the update.

If the no drivers listed in the HP support assistance. Do not worry. The drivers are up to date.

Regarding windows hello, Please perform the below steps and check.

Cause:

The following Group Policy setting does not currently allow log-on or sign-on through facial recognition:

Computer Configuration / Local Policies / Security Options

Interactive logon: Do not display last user name: Enable

By default, this Group Policy setting is disabled, however, after update it may not be.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, change this setting to  Disabled, or wait for the anniversary update of Windows 10.

Here's an article from Microsoft with the details you need: Click here

Have a  nice day!!

Thanks for the help.

The drivers was not found at Support Assistant even if they are not installed on the computer :D.

This PC is so older now (i think it is made from 2008) so the drivers at HP Support & downloads aren't there. (Like at Support assistant)

I don't know what is the cause of the drivers are not existing anymore.

(Would be because it's an older device >10 years and HP policyes, just speculation, or by problems with the download page)

But don't worry it was installed manually.

I think my cam can´t support Windows Hello Face Recognition because is older model without 3D interface.

I'm not worried about this cause, i understand that this device can`t do it because the new secure policyes.

Really my laptop are working now pretty well even if it is too old. (better than with windows 7) and i solved the problems with the not found drivers and not working components doing an intesnsive search at whole internet. (1 muonth testing drivers/software from every source :D)

The only problem i think i have (but not really bad) i can´t login at web sites or programs with the fingerprint because a bad integration using HP Client Security. But I have this 2 options:

A-Windows Logon with internet account but without login on web and apps using Client Security

B-Windows Logon without internet account (local account) but with login on web and apps using Digital Persona

I wanna test Windows Hello to see if it will be solved but i don´t find WBF compatible working drivers for my hardware. (Just compatible but not working drivers I found)

Finally I was curious about the Windows Hello Face Recognition and i did the test of the solution you give to me but i can´t find the policy you said.

I´m at Local group policyes > Computer configuration but Security Options is not found.

I have the options for software configurations, windows configurations and administrative templates.

Filtering everything by interactive or logon don´t find nothing like Interactive logon.

Finally with a manual search i fond the security options on this tree:

Local Group Policyes > Computer Configurations > Windows Configurations > Security Configurations > Local Policyes > Security Options

But nothing of Interactive logon there.

Thanks

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggest you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!

Hi there everyone in this community, I'm new here.

Just upgraded my HDX18  1050EB with an SSD and win10Pro, works fine ...  i was wondering  if i could upgrade the WiFi card ?

Don't know which recent card  is compatible with this socket. (adapter ?)  I really want this to be an internal card instead of USB, if possible even with BT.

Is there anything else i can upgrade, i know this is an 'old' machine but i like to to this kind of silly stuff.

Thx everyone !
