How stream 14-ax0XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I need to reinstall Windows 10 on my son's stream. Some how he has made it unbootable and is stuck in a boot loop. Anyway, I have created a bootable USB but my hesitation is when I'm asked to select a partition to install on. I will have to format the existing one because the space available is not enough. I am worried that this will erase the windows product key. I don't have the original packaging for the notebook. So any direction would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi:

The Windows product key is in the BIOS, not on the hard drive.

W10 will automatically work with the product key in the BIOS.

There is no need to know the key or anything.

You just have to know what version of W10 your notebook came with, and reinstall the same version.
