I am freaking out right now because I have an exam to study and I just tried to bring up my laptop from sleep mode to find out that I cannot log in.
When I press a random key as usual to go to the box where I type my pin, it quickly shows my account name and photo and goes back to the screen with the wallpaper, time and date. I tried restarting so many times using the power button that it doesn’t press anymore. Please help.

Hello @cshake98
So sorry to hear that you face this issue. The feeling is very uncomfortable - like your information is there so close... but is locked/unable to be used It may be a Windows glitch - have seen this before.
If you have performed PC restart and it did not solve your issue, try "turning back time" by using System Restore.
System Restore is a software program available in all modern versions of Windows. It can restore your computer to a point back in time before an issue began, System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected. System Restore may restore your ex-antivirus but we will handle this later
- Please, shutdown the computer using the power button (pressed and hold for a few seconds until PC powers off)
- Power the computer back on.
As soon as you press the power-on button, immediately begin hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap) before any logo appears. This should open a HP Startup Menu >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSN0qzXayUY
- Choose/press F11 for System Recovery options.
The computer should boot from it's recovery partition to open you various recovery options. Note, that F11 option will only work if the recovery partition is there (not deleted) and intact. From there, you have plenty of options to choose from. Every HP computer comes with recovery partition present to assist in tough moments.
Please, perform "System Restore" first in an attempt to fix the issue. Please, restore back to previous days (restore point) where the issue was not present. Here is more info:

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. Provide your feedback/reply.
