Hp Pavilion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I been trying to update my laptop to a newer version of windows 10 for months because I been trying to download ICloud for work. When i run the update it says i need to update BIOS. When i check my drivers it says they are all up to date. I went to the HP support and got a download link for the BIOS update. I ran the update and it said something about BIOS flash failed or so. Then it rebooted and came up with the clear TPM. I dont know anything about that but did not want to lose any personal files because i have a lot of school work on it so i rejected it. Please someone help me through this!

@Pannu15

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Clear the TPM cache:

  1. Open the TPM MMC  by typing tpm.msc in the service box
  2. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Yes.
  3. Under Actions, click Clear TPM.
  4. You will be prompted to restart the computer. During the restart, you might be prompted by the UEFI to press a button to confirm that you wish to clear the TPM.
  5. After the PC restarts, your TPM will be automatically prepared for use by Windows 10.
