HP ENVY - 13-ad106ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everybody.

I recovered my laptop with bootable usb flash created with HP Cloud Recovery.

After recovery I've been trying to install windows 10 updaets.

But when it comes to installation of 20H2 update i face error 0xc1900101.

I googled it and found that cause of this error can be outdated drivers. I've installed HP Support Assistant and tried to look for driver updates, but it found nothing.

Could you please help with this?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Daniil.

Hi everybody.

I finished with installation of Windows 10 downloaded from Microsoft website.

It's needed to take into account that in such case it's needed to download some drivers from HP website, because not all of them are downloaded automatically.

Also it's important to look for laptop drivers not by model name, but by serial number, because lists of drivers found by model and by serial number are different.

Also this article https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/ can be useful to find what drivers are needed to be downloaded and installed for unknown devices.

Daniil.

Hi @datswd

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for your response.

I see that you are facing 0xc1900101 error-related issues. Do not worry, we are here to help you with it.

Please follow the steps shared below and let me know the outcome of it:

1.) Check Device Manager for errors.

Select the Start button, then in the search box on the taskbar, type device manager. Choose Device Manager from the results. In the window that pops up, look for any device with a yellow exclamation mark beside it (you may have to select each category to switch to the list of devices). Press and hold (or right-click) the device name and select either Update Driver Software or Uninstall to correct the errors.

2.) Remove third-party security software.

Make sure you know how to reinstall your programs and that any necessary product keys are on hand. Windows Defender will help protect your device in the meantime.

3.) Repair hard-drive errors.

Select the Start button, then in the search box on the taskbar, type command prompt. Choose Command Prompt from the list of results. In the window that pops up, type chkdsk/f C: and press the Enter key. Repairs automatically start on your hard drive, and you’ll be asked to restart your device.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
