Ordered 16G USB- Windows 10 64-Bit Recovery from HP.com. Gave them serial # and was supposed to get original system. They sent Win 10 with creators update and it does'nt boot right. Tried several solutions but stiil won't boot correctly. Can't seem to contact anyone at HP directly to resolve this. Any ideas or am I out $47 ?

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to contact HP and ask them for a refund.
In the USA/Canada, you can call HP at 1 800-474-6836.
Here is what I would do to see if you can reinstall W10...
Since your notebook came with W10, you can make your own plain W10 installation media by using the Media creation tool at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
The software will automatically work with the product key in your notebook's BIOS.
You don't need to know what the product key is.
Then go to your notebook's support page to install the drivers and available software you need.

Set up and running with no problems. Creators update loaded during install so I deleted it before windows update. It reinstalled with the other updates and installed last. Don't know if that solved my blank screen problem or not loading all the HP bloat ware but problem solved. Dvd installed in less than 2 hours, HP usb took over 3 hours plus 3 days trying to get it to boot right. Thanks again for your help.

You're very welcome.
Fortunately, Microsoft allows their public W10 download to work with OEM keys in the BIOS.
So, unless a person likes all the bloatware that comes with PC's nowadays, this is a free and easy solution to installing a nice, bloatware-free installation of W10, and no need to buy recovery media.
Now, I hope you can get your $47 back from HP.
