This updates and one previous fails with Install error - 0x800f081f.

 

I have tried:

 

1. Try Windows update install again - 5 times without success

2. Following some online articles to DISM and SFC /Scannow - that does not fix it either - I think scannow is missing some files it needs to do it anyway

 

Not tried (yet):

1. In-place recovery files or ISO (I do not think ISO is there anyway?)

2. Downloading ISO to run a repair

 

One online article suggesting not bothering wasting time with the above as Microsoft and/or PC manufacturer often resolve things in a few weeks and I can try update again.

 

I gave it a month, tried again but same old problem.

 

I wanted to get feedback here before I spend serious amount if time/energy on potentially unnecessary Windows repair or re-install from ISO (not sure if I ned to get ISO from HP ?? - I assume it auto-picks up if valid license etc?)

You might want to try installing the standalone version of the update from the Microsoft update catalog website.
