HP Aero laptop. Win11 from HP. Latest bios and all drivers updated from HP's laptop specific download page
Anyone know how to get the hp driver hpcustomcapcomp.inf out of the picture and let Windows do the 22H2 update, and reinstalling the driver after if really necessary? Thank you!
The laptop/Win11 is constantly re-downloading and re-attempting (spinning cpu to max) to do the OS update, rebooting, failing, rolling back.
The update failure is:
0x80070002 - 0x20007
installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_DRIVERS operation
The setup logs in the win update thunder subfolder also identifies the failing driver as HP's
HP Application Driver and
HP Application Enabling Software Driver
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hpcustomcapcomp.inf_amd64_1d0e377969841bd2\hpcustomcapcomp.inf
(Support chat has done the: Blame it on bios version, but it is already on the latest. Blame it on needed a recovery install, but that just gets windows back to and old state, and all the updates start, and then back to the 22H2 fail at the same HP driver)
