Last bit of information ...
Windows 11 previews are currently available in two very different versions -- Beta and Dev.
The first of these (Beta) are the releases that are currently being worked by Microsoft and these will end on, or before, Oct 5th when MS releases Windows 11 to the public. To use these versions, you MUST be a member of the Windows Insider group -- and MS has recently been preventing folks from joining that group. With these versions, if your PC does not meet Win11 requirements, it will install and it will update.
The second of these (Dev) are the releases that are being worked by Microsoft for availability AFTER the Oct 5th release. Once again, you must be a member of the Windows Insider group -- but with these, if your PC does not meet ALL the requirements for Windows 11, not only will it refuse to install, if you force it, it will then NOT update anymore. So, these versions are not even worth attempting if your PC does not meet ALL the Windows 11 requirements.
