HP EliteBook 8470p Base Model Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone, I would like to install Windows 11 on an incompatible HP Elitebook8470p notebook, but my own attempts have all failed. After approx. 3.5 hours and many steps, the conversion fails with the error: 0x8007042B - 0x4000D ‘an error occurred in theSECOND_BOOT phase during MIGRATE_DATA’.
I have already followed the general recommendations for the specified error (clean start, switching off the virus scanner), but unfortunately without a better result.
I have found information here in the forum that the changeover is basically possible. However, I cannot find any specific information.
I would be grateful for any advice.

Once again, a big thank you to Paul. Installation as a new installation has caused the switch from 10 to 11. The notebook runs stable.

Hi:

Try the method I used on my W11-unsupported PC's that failed using other methods to upgrade to W11.

This one worked every time:
