First, my laptop required new logins for Microsoft 365. Every time I went to use it I had to log in again. I thought it was just a 365 problem, but I needed to log into every app I have, like Adobe and Zoom. Any changes I made while logged in were not kept and had to be redone. I have tried to set up Outmail at least 5 times now. It works fine until I close my computer for the day. The next day I have to start all over again. The same for all the apps. Excel, Adobe, Zoom, setting changes.
I have done every diagnostic test I could find, but nothing comes up. I have reinstalled the apps, but it hasn't had any effect.

Hi @Lawyermomma,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to have to repeatedly log in and reset everything every day—it sounds like you're dealing with a very inconvenient issue. Let's work together to figure this out.
- Have you noticed if the issue started after a specific update or software installation?
- Does this happen only with installed apps, or do browser-based logins (e.g., Outlook on a web browser) also reset?
- Is your device syncing correctly with your Microsoft account, or are you seeing any error messages related to synchronization?
Let's try these steps.
Check User Profile for Corruption
- It’s possible your Windows user profile is corrupted. Create a new user account:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
- Click Add someone else to this PC and follow the prompts to create a new account.
- Log in with the new account and test if the issue persists.
Check Storage and Permissions for AppData
- Apps store login and settings data in the AppData folder. If the system isn't saving changes, there may be an issue with file permissions.
- Open File Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\[Your Username].
- Right-click AppData, select Properties > Security, and ensure your user account has Full Control permissions.
Sync Microsoft Account and Settings
- Ensure your Microsoft account is syncing correctly with Windows:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Your Info and ensure you're signed in with your Microsoft account.
- Check Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings to ensure sync options are enabled.
Run System File Checker and DISM Tools
- Corrupted system files may be causing the issue.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Run the following commands one at a time:
3. Restart the laptop after completing the scans.
Reset Windows Components Without Data Loss
- If nothing else works, consider using the Reset this PC option:
- Go to Settings > System > Recovery.
- Select Reset this PC, choose Keep my files, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- This will reinstall Windows but preserve your personal files and some apps.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
